Supplier Diversity Program

Partnering with Small Businesses

At Idaho Power, we believe that supporting suppliers with a diverse mix of backgrounds, opinions and perspectives makes us a more nimble and effective company. We are also committed to supporting the growth of small and local businesses. We contract with small, local companies for everything from large construction to seasonal landscaping.

In 2022 alone, of the over $197.7 million in goods and services Idaho Power purchased from Idaho and Oregon businesses, 59% went to small businesses.

Our Supplier Diversity Program helps veteran-owned, women-owned and small, disadvantaged businesses compete in our supply chain and procurement process.

In accordance with U.S. government procurement contract requirements, we are committed to providing opportunities for small businesses to participate in procurement opportunities to the maximum extent, and to facilitating business opportunities by making small businesses’ company information available to our internal purchasers.

Eligibility

In general, only U.S.-based, for-profit companies may qualify as small business concerns for U.S. government procurement. Eligibility as a small business concern is based on the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 13, Parts 121, 124, 125, and 126, issued by the Small Business Administration (SBA). You may also consult the SBA Office in your area to be listed as a small business concern.

Self-certifying your company as a small business concern is permissible except for HUBZone small business concerns, which require certification by the SBA.
